Begbie spotted in Glasgow for Trainspotting 2 filming
Resisdents in Glasgow’s up-market Pollokshields district could be forgiven for locking their doors yesterday as Francis Begbie was spotted prowling the tree-lined boulevards.
The character, played by Robert Carlyle, was filming scenes at a large detached sandstone villa for the long-awaited sequel to Trainspotting.

Director Danny Boyle was also seen making his way to the house on Wednesday. It is understood the villa is being used as the home of Begbie’s lawyer in Trainspotting 2, which will be released in January.
The long-awaited film is loosely based on Irvine Welsh’s 2002 novel Porno, which was written as a sequel to Trainspotting.
Carlyle has said the script for the new film is “absolutely fantastic” and stronger than the first film.
