Interview: Tony Nicol, DJ

Occupation: DJ.

What schools did you attend? Royston Primary and Broughton High.

What sort of pupil were you? Mischievous, but worked hard.

Were your school days the best days of your life? No.

What was your first job? Bank worker at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where I still am.

What has been your most unusual job? Fruit picker in Australia.

My biggest achievement so far has been... winning the Scottish Movida Corona Final and representing Scotland in the UK Final held in London.

My worst moment ever was... I accidentally smashed a bottle of vodka over my CD case and the majority of my music collection.

Three words that sum up my personality are: Passion, fashion and mashin’ (Ha ha!).

My favourite place in the world is... Sydney, Australia.

Three places in Edinburgh I could not live without are: Cabaret Voltaire. Liquid Rooms. Nando’s.

Who is your best friend? My girlfriend, Kat McMath.

Which TV show do you never miss? How I Met Your Mother.

If you could bring one DJ to Edinburgh what would it be? Daft Punk.

Name one item you not live without: My headphones.

By what ethos do you live your life? Live everyday like it’s your last.
