Looking for Allison McRhine

One reader from overseas is looking to try and track down a girl from the Capital after finding a letter in a bottle back in 1966.

Henk Donselaar, from the Netherlands, writes: “In August 1966, I was 15 years old and on a holiday on a Dutch isle called Ameland.

“The day after a night storm I was walking with my parents on the beach and I found a bottle with a little note.

“On the little note there was a message. This is what was written: ‘My name is Allison McRhine. I am 14 years old. I have blond hair and blue eyes. I am travelling on a passenger ship to Australia. The food is disgusting. My address is . . . Street
. . . in Edinburgh, Scotland’.

“Sadly I lost her address when I was moving to another address. But before that I had written two letters to her address in Edinburgh but never received any answer.

“I don’t know if she was at that time emigrating to Australia or on a cruise with this passenger ship.

“Since 1966, I have been searching for Allison McRhine and still without any result.
