JACKHAMMER

DUTCH techno giant Steve Rachmad, heads to The Caves for this month’s edition of Jackhammer.

For the past 25 years Rachmad has made his mark, remixing almost anyone worth their weight in quality vinyl.

His own productions were originally reserved for the collector, with rare vinyl runs followed by re-issues years later.

Nevertheless, he is one DJ who commands respect for taking clubbers on a musical journey filled with peaks and troughs.

KARNIVAL

TEVIOT House is a great space to party, with a cool terrace and a hefty sound system.

This Saturday sees house legend Riva Star headline Karnival there. His South American-style house cuts have kept Miami’s dance floors packed with passionate and grooving beats.

Also on the bill is underground housecat Giom. A producer with a solid reputation for creating deep house infusions, he’ll keep the night rocking.

BAD APPLE

SET to take a bite out of Edinburgh’s club scene on Sunday is a new clubbing experience, Bad Apple. Produced by a collective of Edinburgh DJs, Sunday’s event is an all-day house party at BAR 50.

With a heated terrace to make sure the Scottish summer remains warm, a BBQ and some groovy house sounds, guest DJs are Laurence Nolan and Dan Rane, who join Bad Apple residents to share their deep house sounds.
