Pick of the Club Nights: Hallowe’en Round-up

THE witching weekend is almost upon us, time for clubland to turn into a haven for the undead and the setting for numerous Hallowe’en pranks and parties.

Skeletons, zombies and saucy wenches be prepared to strike fear into the Burgh with the help of our round up of some of the best nights the Capital has to offer.

Kicking it all off, tomorrow night you could check out the Mondo Loco charity party, featuring Warner Powers, at The Lane.

Powers played a cracking set last weekend at 10-86 and is a sure bet for a pumping party. Expect funk, house and techno from him and an impressive roster of DJs.

If it’s some break beatz you fancy, then head to Sugarbeat, at Cabaret Voltaire, where legends Krafty Kuts & A skillz will bash out a fierce selection of block rocking beats.

Saturday night sees nu-disco the order of the evening, with the funky styling of the Devil Disco Club, at The Green Room on Picardy Place.

The funky funksters known as Crazy P take to the stage for a special show at 7pm, finishing at 10pm when the Devil Disco Club will hand over the reins to Heavy Gossip and Ultragroove.

Deep house and silky grooves are the order of the day.

Over at The Speakeasy on Blair Street, Cheap Picasso’s disco synth electronica aims to have it nailed.

And if that’s not scary enough, then pop downstairs to Karnival Vs Kapital’s A Nightmare On Blair Street, complete with fancy dress competition and furious house and techno with which to contend.

Saving what might be the best for last Vegas, Voodoo Rooms sees the cast of Burlesque Vegas transformed into the show gouls.

DJing is a Hammer House line-up of Frankenstein Sumatra, Dino Dracula Martini and all the usual suspects, with equally blood-sucking titles to get your freak on into the wee small hours.

The choice is yours, just remember to get in to the spirit of Hallowe’en - it’s sure to be a thriller.
