Willy Wonka and the glass bar in the sky

IF you have ever been in any doubt that Edinburgh is indeed a magical city then the chances are you have never spent an evening in the Point Hotel’s Sky Bar.

There’s a chance to do just that next Thursday, when the Capital’s chocolate lovers are invited to clear their diaries as the Point Hotel hosts a mouth-watering Willy Wonka Chocolate Party.

For one night only, all things chocolaty will take over the Sky Bar, the monthly pop up lounge bar in the hotel’s penthouse suite.

Against a backdrop of clips from the original film and spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle, the chocolate theme will continue with specially crafted chocolate cocktails, chocolate themed savoury snacks on the BBQ, and a selection of mini desserts.

To kick start the evening, each guest will be given a Willy Wonka chocolate bar, and of course, as in the best tradition’s of Roald Dahl’s chocolatier, one of the bars will contain an exclusive Golden Ticket entitling the winner to an overnight stay at the hotel and dinner in the Bread Street Brasserie.
