Chapter One Hair Spa said the new salon offers a “high-end pamper experience,” with a full range of luxury hair services, products and treatments. It expands the group that was founded by hair styling duo Paul Bertram and Natalie Hamilton, who previously opened sites in Newtongrange in 2012 and Eskbank in 2015.

The pair opened the doors to the East Lothian salon for a short period before sadly having to temporarily close them during lockdown – but it is now officially open.

Bertram said: “Many of our new clients have told us they previously felt they had to head to Edinburgh to get that high-end salon experience.” Salon co-owner Hamilton said: “We’ve gone all out to match, even exceed, city standards. We’ve totally transformed a former ballroom in a listed hotel into a complete sanctuary.”
