Edinburgh City Council has confirmed that they are dealing with the problems, which are intermittent in certain areas in the Capital.

A council spokesperson said: “We’re experiencing intermittent issues with Microsoft 365 across Learning and Teaching network which is being looked into as a priority.”

A message to pupils from Currie Community High School said: “We are aware of technical issues that your child may be experiencing with accessing Office365 and Teams.

“City of Edinburgh Council are working to resolve the issue and we hope it will be resolved soon.”

It is thought that all issues with the system will be fixed by tomorrow morning.

Schools in Scotland are all currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic and pupils are engaging in online learning.

It is not known when schools will return but the Scottish Government warn that it will not be before February.
