Coronavirus in Edinburgh: Covid-19 case confirmed at Edinburgh’s Boroughmuir High School as children told to self-isolate

A letter to parents and carers from NHS Lothian says children at Boroughmuir High School who have been in direct contact with the confirmed case have been contacted and will be self-isolating at home for 14 days.

The letter says the school will remain open and advises parents that if their child has not been contacted they should attend if they remain well.

It comes as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon revealed on Wednesday that 15 more people in Scotland who tested positive for Covid-19 have died.

Ms Sturgeon said a further 1,429 people have tested positive for coronavirus, according to the latest daily figures.

The number of people in hospital with coronavirus in Scotland is 570 - an increase of 73 from Tuesday - with 49 people in intensive care, which is an increase of 14 from yesterday.

Of the 1,429 new cases, 239 were in the NHS Lothian health board area.
