Coronavirus in Scotland: Pictures show Edinburgh locals enjoying the sunshine and making the most of the new freedom as lockdown restrictions ease

Residents across the Capital have been making the most of the Spring sunshine and the newly loosened coronavirus restrictions.

Pictures in beauty spots should many happy locals smiling as they can finally meet friends and family outdoors.

Portobello beach and the Meadows were full with socially distanced residents enjoying the sunshine.

Friday, April 16 saw groups of up to six people from six households meet outdoors and travel within Scotland allowed.
