Coronavirus in Scotland: 194 new cases in Lothians as country registers 28 deaths in 24 hours

A total of 194 people have tested positive in the Lothians in the last 24 hours as Scotland records 28 new deaths.

Across the country, 1,281 new cases have been confirmed since yesterday, according to the Scottish Government’s latest figures.

Of these cases 496 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 258 in Lanarkshire and 89 in Tayside.

The remaining other cases are spread across the other nine health boards.

To date, 1,170 people who have tested positive for the virus are being treated in hospital, which is 18 more than yesterday, and 83 patients are in intensive care with confirmed Covid-19 – a decrease of three people from the day before.

So far, 62,812 have tested positive for the virus in Scotland according to the Scottish Government figures.
