There have been 221 new cases of coronavirus reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours.

There are 261 patients in hospital with confirmed Covid-19 and eight people are currently in intensive care.

Out of the 221 cases, 106 of them were in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 48 were in Lanarkshire and 35 in the Lothians.

The rest are spread across eight other health boards.

No deaths were reported.

Nicola Sturgeon tweeted the latest updates saying: “Please heed all the public health advice.

“More than ever we must remember that what we do as individuals just now affects the wellbeing of everyone.

“Let’s look after each other.”
