Coronavirus in Scotland: Positive cases in the Lothians remain high as latest statistics are announced

Nicola Sturgeon has announced the latest coronavirus statistics during her press conference held in St Andrew’s House, Edinburgh.

She reported that 993 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours with 122 of them in the Lothian area.

The Greater Glasgow and Clyde area has recorded 362 of these cases and Lanarkshire has recorded 294.

There are 754 patients currently in hospital and 61 patients in intensive care across Scotland.

Tragically, one person has died after testing positive for the virus.
