“East Lothian officers have been out patrolling the county in recent weeks to ensure our people and communities are safe during these difficult and unprecedented times,” the post read.

“They have been engaging, advising and educating members of the community to comply with current Government advice and guidelines, in order to reduce the risk to public health and our colleagues in the NHS.

“Yesterday afternoon these patrols included North Berwick and officers wanted to thank the public for adhering to the ‘stay at home’ guidelines which can be seen from the photos below.

“Despite the lovely spring weather, the streets and beaches were quiet and officers would like to urge that this approach is maintained as we go into the Easter weekend.

“We are relying on everybody, collectively, to work together, to stay at home, during this unique and extraordinary time in our history.

“Help us to help keep you safe. Stay home and save lives.”
