Nicola Sturgeon: 19 more confirmed cases in the Lothians as Scotland's death roll reaches 1,262

A total of 19 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the NHS Lothian area in the last 24 hours, as the death toll in Scotland reaches 1,262.
The latest government figures, published at 2pm today, reveal an increase from 1,785 to 1,804 cases of COVID-19 in the NHS Lothian area.

Hide AdAs of today, 301 are in hospital in the area with coronavirus and 24 are being treated in intensive care – both figures have remained the same since yesterday.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed at her daily briefing that as of 9am this morning, the total number of patients in hospital across Scotland with confirmed or suspected coronavirus has reached 1,762.
She said: “Despite these occasional fluctuations, overall these statistics give us cause for cautious optimism.”
Since March, more than 2,000 patients who tested positive for the virus have been able to leave hospital.
