Silverknowes Golf Club: Clubhouse closed for cleaning after customer returns from Spain without self isolating
The club took the decision to close for a deep clean as a precaution.
Silverknowes Golf Club has taken the decision to close it’s clubhouse until Thursday after discovering that a customer had returned from Spain without self isolating.
The Clubhouse Committee took the decision to close for a deep clean as a precautionary measure.
A spokesperson for the committee told the Edinburgh Evening News: “We had a member of the club enter the clubhouse yesterday and walked through the clubhouse.
"We found out this morning that this member had returned from Spain recently and should have been isolating for the 14 days.
“Due to this we took the decision to close the clubhouse as we felt we had a duty of care to our members and staff to close, sanitise the clubhouse and to remain closed for 72 hours (Reopen Thursday)
“We would like to make it clear that this individual is not and has not shown any symptoms and we decided ourselves to close & sanitise the clubhouse.”
Other businesses in Edinburgh have also been closed for precautionary cleaning including The Bon Vivant on Thistle Street.
