These are the 12 areas in Edinburgh with the lowest coronavirus rates

Figures released by the Scottish Government show the coronavirus infection rates across all areas in Edinburgh, six areas haven’t recorded a single new case in the seven day period.

This data from Public Health Scotland gives a breakdown of the number of cases per region across the whole country and includes the population of each area for context.

The first six areas featured on this list didn’t record any new coronavirus cases over the course of the seven days.

The following six areas all have an estimated number of between one and four new positive coronavirus cases and have been ordered according to the highest population.

Not included in this list, the worst hit area in Edinburgh is Newington and Dalkeith Road with 36 new cases reported over the week.

This data is from October 10 to October 17. Over this seven day period, 531 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the City of Edinburgh, that’s 101.2 per 100,000 population.
