Thousands of people turned out to show their support for NHS frontline workers once again - and one piper in Leith went the extra mile.

Louise Marhsall, who has previously piped for the Queen and the Pope, took to the streets of Leith to play Scotland the Brave at 8pm.

She then broke into a version of The Proclaimers hit Sunshine on Leith and 500 Miles as residents cheered her on from their windows and balconies.

Pipers from all around the Capital joined in the incredible national salute to hardworking NHS workers.

The Clap For Carers campaign, which started online, is being staged to show the nation’s support and appreciation for NHS workers fighting the coronavirus.

Organisers said: "During these unprecedented times they need to know we are grateful.”
