Documentary on ME set for special screening in Capital

A SPECIAL screening of a film about ME, or chronic fatigue syndrome, is to be held to mark the 25th anniversary of the charity Edmesh, which supports sufferers in the Capital.

Voices from the Shadows is a documentary made by the mother and brother of a severe ME sufferer, showing the isolation and hopelessness the condition causes.

It also features information from medical experts and other sufferers, and archive material.

The film premiered at the Mill Valley Film Festival in 2011, where it won the Audience Favourite International Documentary Award.

The screening will be held at Cineworld in Fountain Park on May 24, at 2pm. There will also be a Q&A session with researchers and medics.

Admission is free, but places should be booked in advance on [email protected] or 0845 625 2025. The film is not suitable for children.
