Jobs boost as care firm set for expansion

THE Capital has received a jobs boost after a care firm announced that it will take on up to 50 new staff members.

Independent Living Services (ILS), which provides care at home, hopes to recruit the workers within the next three months.

The announcement follows a similar expansion last summer, when the company opened a new office in South Gyle.

The private company provides services to Edinburgh City Council, which is reducing its in-house care provision, and also offers care direct to members of the public.

Rosie Coutts, ILS service manager, said: “There is enormous job satisfaction working so closely with people in the care sector.

“We’re delighted to be providing more care at home services in Edinburgh, and I’d be happy to hear from anyone looking for employment in the city who thinks they have the right skills to work for us.”
