Nostalgia: Snapshot from the past

THESE youngsters were enjoying some fun in the sun on a day out at camp 20 years ago today.

It was all smiles for the youngsters from Bridgend School as they enjoyed the sunshine at Middleton Camp.

The boys were in a party from schools in West Lothian who were sampling the outdoor life at the camp, which offered the “adventure of a lifetime” with no TV, no phone and no computers – just a straw mattress, outside toilets and a river to wash in.

The old school in County Durham entertained generations of youngsters who went to its summer camps from all over the UK.
