A charity wine, music and pizza party is happening in Edinburgh this weekend - here's everything you need to know

Edinburgh's High Dive pizza bar is set to host a special one-off wine fair and pop-up kitchen later this month to raise funds for the Australian Bushfire crisis.

The event, which takes place on the 26th January at the eatery on St Leonard's Street, will see the team behind Wild Wine Fair and pop-up specialists FK Spiders come together to host a wine, music and pizza party with all profits going directly to those who are affected by the terrible fires which have devastated much of the country.

The entrepreneurs behind FK Spiders, Lucas Woods and Caitlin Baker, who are now based in Edinburgh but are originally from Australia, said the disaster, which has seen 28 people dead, 17 million hectares of land burnt, entire towns destroyed and an estimated billion animals killed, left them feeling helpless.

“We knew there was a choice between letting the enormity of the situation take over or try to do what we can to make a difference, despite being on the other side of the world.’’ said Caitlin, who added that the pair then decided to team up with Jo Radford and India Parry-Williams of Wild Wine Fair for the special event.

She said: "We are proud to work with a small community charity who is currently supporting the First Nations communities who have been decimated by the fires along the south coast."

Money raised from the event will be going directly to the First Nations people in the fire-ravaged New South Wales South Coast, where many people have lost everything.

Caitlin added: "At this time of crisis every donation counts to assisting local Australian communities rebuild their lives. The organisation we are donating to is Katungul Medical Service - this service provides not only medical assistance but life assistance to First Nations people. The areas in particular that the money will be aiding includes Batemans Bay, Mogo & Bega."

A spokesperson for Civerinos Italian street food restaurant collection explained that their tag line ‘love thy neighbourhood’ feels perfectly apt for what this event is about, said: "Wild and Fk Spiders have come together doing something they love to try and make a difference in this unprecedented time. A wine party in a community where Caitlin and Lucas have come to call home will celebrate their love for Australia and aim to help raise funds for the bushfire crisis."

Featuring an all Australian wine list, including winemakers Tom Shobbrook and Anton Van Klopper some of the best & most exciting natural wine being made in Australia will be on offer on the night.

Running from 5pm until midnight, guests can also enjoy pizzas and snacks by Aidan Kidson of acclaimed London restaurant St John, while music will be provided by local DJs including Stephen Marshall and Cameron Mason.

Graphics and branding for the evening were kindly donated by the hospitality design studio Fed & Watered.

Tickets for the event cost just £5 and can be bought here, those not wishing to, or are unable to, attend on the night will also have the option to buy a ‘donation ticket’ to help support those affected.
