The Gannet, Glasgow

A romantic and welcoming restaurant space that feels distinctly European in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, The Gannet has perfected the art of relaxed fine dining.

Their six course tasting menu of modern Scottish cuisine changes with the seasons, meaning there’s something new to look forward to on every visit.

The Table, Edinburgh

One of Edinburgh’s most understated gourmet restaurants, you really have to be looking to spot The Table - an unusual establishment with just 10 seats and one service per night.

You’ll have to book months in advance to bag a seat here, but the creative tasting menu (with strictly no substitutions) is well worth it.

The Newport Restaurant, Fife

Run by Masterchef: The Professionals winner, Jamie Scott, The Newport in Newport-on-Tay serves a six course tasting menu with vegetarian and pescetarian options.

Because of the amount of fresh and local produce used, dishes can change by the season and even daily.

Glenapp Castle, Ayrshire

The six course dining menu at Glenapp Castle changes every night, but is always delicious and exciting.

All of the fish and shellfish used are line-caught or hand-dived off Scotland's west coast, and the game comes from local estates across Ayrshire. The restaurant’s beef, lamb, and pork are farmed only 17 miles from Glenapp Castle.

Six by Nico, Glasgow and Edinburgh

New kids on the block, Six by Nico originated in Glasgow, but opened their Edinburgh restaurant in March this year.

They only offer a set six-dish tasting menu, and its theme changes every six weeks. The restaurants are currently serving Willy Wonka-inspired plates, but have cooked up all manner of innovative menus in the past, including a Disney theme and a New York City theme.

The Tayberry, Dundee

This Broughty Ferry eatery offers the choice of either a five or eight course tasting menu, depending on your appetite.
