Delightfully Delicious: a new site serving waffles and shakes opening soon in Edinburgh

The team behind a trailer serving sweet treats at events and markets around Scotland has moved into a new site in the heart of Marchmont - bringing its waffles and shakes to the popular student area.

Owner and founder of Delightfully Delicious, Jessica Skinner, is bringing her handmade waffles and shakes to a new shopfront in the heart of Edinburgh

Waffle and shake shop Delightfully Delicious, founded and owned by Jessica Skinner, has now taken over the site on Roseneath Street formerly housing Saiko Kitchen.

The new site is the latest step in the Delightfully Delicious journey which began in 2019 with owner Jessica having transformed a trailer to deliver shakes and waffles to sweet-toothed customers around Scotland. “Both things I loved growing up and still love as an adult, so I put them together and it’s a perfect combination in my eyes” said Jessica, adding “I wanted to make sure I was doing it all to a high quality, so I make my own ice cream, waffle mix etc, homemade as much as possible.”

Delightfully Delicious has previously appeared at The Yard in Perth and university campuses across Scotland, presenting handmade buttermilk waffles coated in white chocolate, raspberries and meringue, and creamy freakshakes overflowing with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but Jessica will be expanding the Delightfully Delicious range upon opening in Marchmont:

She added “We are using as many local businesses as possible throughout our menu. Some of them are collabs for our shakes”, with nearby bakery Sugar Daddy’s collaborating on Delightfully Delicious’ vegan and gluten free milkshake.

Delightfully Delicious hopes to open on Thursday at 15 Roseneath Street, Edinburgh EH9 1JH from 12-6pm Wednesday to Friday and 10-6pm at the weekend. Visit their Facebook page to find out more.
