Edinburgh cocktail bar shakes up lockdown with home delivery service

Cocktail hour goes on for one Edinburgh bar which has been ‘flying’ with orders since launching a home delivery service during lockdown.

Bar Tonic on North Castle Street is taking Pornstar Martinis, Strawberry Daiquiris and other boozy delights to the people seeking a taste of a big night out at home.

Chris Aitchison, marketing manager, said: “ We launched last Saturday night , with over 600 people signed up for exclusive access one hour before we went live, which isn’t bad for a bar of 120 capacity.

“Since then, orders have been flying in. On our first delivery day yesterday we had four drivers out from 10am to 6pm to fulfil all the orders. Two had to stay on an extra hour.”

Each drink is handmade by bartenders wearing masks and gloves with each serving poured into a pouch for delivery.

Non-alcohlic versions will be available soon.

Free delivery is available on orders over £30 to all EH postcodes on Friday and Saturday between 10am to 6pm.

Customers can pick up their orders from the bar on Friday and Saturday mornings online.
