CHEESEMAS is Byron Hamburgers' annual celebration of the great British tradition of overindulgence and today it's back for the fifth year running.

Actually, as Edinburgh’s branches of Byrons - on North Bridge and Lothian Road - only opened earlier this year, it’s the first time that Capital burger fans will have had to partake in the experience.

Tonight, the sixth of Byron’s Cheesemas on Tour Parties comes to Byron, North Bridge.

As Edinburgh is about to discover, nothing says Cheesemas like a juicy new double cheeseburger special, ice-cold craft beers, boilermakers, and partying till the cows come home to the cheesiest festive tunes.

After all, what would Christmas be without the dulcet strains of Noddy Holder belting out ‘It’s Christmaaaaaaaas!’ or Cliff Richard eulogising the delights of ‘Mistletoe and Wine’.

Both chart toppers, so it’s fitting that at Byron’s this month, a new smash hit special tops the menu, the Cheesemas No 1 [The Single].

It’s accompanied by Return of the Mac (smoked bacon macaroni cheese), a brand new festive side, while also making its menu debut is the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Freakshake.

The Cheesemas No 1 comprises two 6oz hamburgers, mature Cheddar, smoked bacon and onion relish, onion ring, bacon island sauce and pickles and normally comes in at £12.95.

You can ‘mac it up’ by adding the smoked bacon macaroni cheese to your order for an extra £1 - as a main, the smoked bacon macaroni cheese costs £4.75.

The Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Freakshake is £7.95.

Of course, at tonight’s Byron’s Cheesemas on Tour Party, if you’re one of the first 200, you’ll save money. Celebrations kick off at the North Bridge branch at 6pm. There are no tickets and everything is first come, first served, so get down early.
