Dubbed Wubba Lubba Dub Dub, the new venture is the latest project by themed bar specialists The Pop Up Geeks and will launch on Saturday 5th May and run until the 27th July at their permanent home in the Arches on East Market Street.

Fans of the show can enjoy a massive selection of interdimensional cocktails, Solenya Pickle Backs and craft beers – including an exclusive inter-dimensional sour ale brewed by exciting Leith based brewers The Campervan Brewery.

Founder Linden Wilkinson confirmed that the Wubba menu is the “biggest and most varied” they have put together so far for any of their pop-ups, with previous themes including Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead already having proved popular with film, book and TV fans in the capital.

He added: “We have 12 weird, colourful and delicious sci-fi cocktails, a selection of ‘solenya’ pickle backs and shrub based drinks, an inter-dimensional sour ale brewed by camper van brewery which can be paired with syrups for a different adventure every time, and of course, our usual range of fantastic beers, wines and spirits.

“We’re also working with The Pizza Geeks and Baba Budan on a selection of themed bar snacks. Wilkinson stated that as they were huge fans of the hit series – which was produced by Community creator Dan Harmon and is currently available on Netflix – and that they had engaged in plenty of research (watching episodes) before the bar launches this weekend.

He said: “Taking inspiration from Rick and Morty gives us the chance to have a lot of fun and create a huge amount of variety within the menu.

“From the Cocktail on the Cob to the Shum Plum Shlippedy Dop, we had to get creative to fit a cocktail around these zany and completely ridiculous references.

“We’re really excited to get to work on the rebrand of our permanent space at the Arches, with just a few days till the launch on Saturday 5th May to turn our potions classroom into a portal filled garage.”

The Pop-up Geeks team say bookings for Wubba are now live and filling up fast, with Wilkinson adding: “We will be accepting walk-ins and have a good amount of outdoor seating, however we recommend guests book a slot via our website to avoid disappointment.”
