Older people’s charity calls for helpers and donations

Age Scotland is appealing for volunteers and stock donations for its new charity shop in Newington in preparation for its opening.

The shop, which is due to open on September 30, will be the second run by the charity across the Capital.

Age is looking for volunteers to staff the tills, sort stock and help customers.

The charity is also appealing for good quality donations of clothing, books, videos, DVDs, toys, games, ornaments and general household goods to stock the shop.

Profits from sales of these items support Age Scotland’s work across Scotland, including an information helpline for older people and grants for local older people’s groups.

Stock donations in Edinburgh can be collected by the charity and taken to either the Stockbridge or Newington outlets.

Those interested in volunteering can call 07721 835 178 or e-mail [email protected].
