One of Edinburgh's most popular walking spots is opening up again

One of the city's most popular spots for walkers, joggers and cyclists has opened up again.

Access to part of Dalmeny Estate, which lies to the western edge of Edinburgh, had previously been closed off to the public due to a high number of visitors during the UK's coronavirus lockdown - but it has now reopened.

For the protection of estate workers during the coronavirus lockdown, those wishing to access Dalmeny Estate from Edinburgh were asked to use the Cramond Brig Gate, from where they could access only the east part of the Shore Walk and beaches between Cramond and the Snab Point.

Now, visitors are welcome back on the full length of the Shore Walk between Long Craig and Cramond Brig Gates.

Visitors, however, are asked to avoid going into the areas with lambs and calves.

In a post on its Facebook page, Dalmeny Estate wrote: "Just before the lockdown began, thousands of people chose to exercise on the single-track estate roads - many cyclists were speeding; some people were having picnics on the road!

"Efficient farm work was impossible; safe work was very difficult,
