Built in 1725, what was once a grand manor house is now an independently-branded four-star hotel. Blending rich history and first-class hospitality, each of its 215 rooms is a mix of old and new. From authentically Scottish dining at the Pentland Restaurant to more relaxed fare at the James Braid Bar or The Brasserie, the cuisine is a major draw. There’s afternoon tea in the Douglas Lounge whilst the Cocktail Bar delivers the perfect serve.

A modernisation project in 2019, led by Scottish design firm 10 Design, was part of a two-year upgrade that saw a refurbishment of the hotel’s bedrooms and suites, part of an investment programme since the hotel became independent in August 2016.

Covid precautions

The hotel will reopen with safety measures in place to allow guests a comfortable and relaxing stay, whilst still maintaining a warm Scottish welcome. The resort covid health and safety precautions are detailed in full here. https://www.dalmahoyhotelandcountryclub.co.uk/rooms-suites/covid-19-updates/

Home-grown heroes and local flavours are the stars of Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club’s new menu at the hotel’s signature dining spot, The Pentland Restaurant.

From Pan roast fillet of North Sea cod and Slow braised Scottish beef cheek to Pearl barley and Highland mushroom risotto, executive head chef, Bruce Price, has ensured the hotel’s supplier list reads like a who’s who of the Scottish produce scene.

Featuring locally sourced ingredients from as far as Shetland and as near as the resort’s herb garden, the restaurant menus combine flavours of home with international influences in what is a thoroughly modern offering.
