173 pumps for city diabetics

MORE diabetes patients in Lothian are receiving “life- changing” equipment than anywhere else in Scotland, figures have shown.

Insulin pumps were developed to allow sufferers to more easily manage their medication, and make everyday life easier.

Following a question at the Scottish Parliament by Renfrewshire South MSP Hugh Henry, it emerged that 173 people have received the pump.

That is significantly more than any other health board.
