20-year-old fights for life after being ‘stabbed in neck’

A 20-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life after allegedly being stabbed in the neck in Livingston at the weekend.

The man was involved in an alleged incident at Durward Rise at around 6am on Saturday morning.

He is described as being in a “serious condition”.

A police spokesperson said: “A 36-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged attempted murder in Livingston in the early hours of Saturday morning.

“A 20-year-old man was seriously injured in the incident in Durward Rise, which happened just before 6am.”

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We attended for a male involved in a reported stabbing at 5.52am.”

Zachary Shannon, 36, from Livingston, West Lothian, appeared on petition from custody at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday charged with attempted murder in relation to the alleged attack.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody pending further examination.
