Action plea on suicide

Have your say

EDINBURGH Central SNP MSP Marco Biagi has urged action from the First Minister over Scotland’s suicide rate.

Academics at Edinburgh and Manchester universities found Scots were more likely to commit suicide than people elsewhere in the UK.

Mr Biagi said: “It’s clear alcohol and drug misuse rates in Scotland are major causes of our higher suicide rate, and the Scottish Government is already taking strong action in these areas.”
