Airport aims high

EDINBURGH Airport was Scotland’s busiest last month, with a three per cent rise almost taking passenger numbers through the one million mark.

Operator BAA said Scotland’s three main airports had a 4.4 per cent rise in passenger numbers compared to a 0.2 per cent rise for BAA’s UK airports as a whole.

Glasgow and Aberdeen reported increases of 5.5 per cent and 6.7 per cent respectively.

Heathrow was the UK’s most popular airport, reporting six-and-a-half million travellers.
