Ammo dump soldier guilty

A FORMER soldier who was kicked out of the army while serving in Edinburgh is facing jail after dumping ammunition in a forest where children play.

James Lee Duff, who now lives in Gloucester, kept the live rounds after being dismissed for failing a drugs test at Redford Barracks in January 2009.

Cheltenham Magistrates Court was told that “there could have been tragic consequences” if the ammunition had got into the wrong hands. Duff will be sentenced next month.
