Appeal to find man’s family

Police are appealing for information to help trace the relatives of a man who passed away in his home in the Capital.

George Gregg Linton, known as Gregg, died in his home in Deanhaugh Street, on Monday, aged 76.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances, and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

For 30 years, Mr Linton owned Gregg Linton Antiques in Victoria Street. He had lived in Deanhaugh Street for around five or six years, and in Wester Hailes before that. He never married or had children, but is believed to have had a nephew called Bryan and a niece, Rhona.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for anyone who may know Mr Linton’s family to contact us on 0131-311 3131.”
