Police are appealing for help in tracing relatives of a Caledonian Hilton porter who collapsed at work last Friday.

Ian Kruger, 63, from Burdiehouse, collapsed at the Princes Steet hotel and despite the efforts of his colleagues died shortly after at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

There are no suspicious circumstances, but police have not been able to trace any relatives to inform them of his death.

Mr Kruger was born in Edinburgh in 1948 to Robina and Edward Kruger, however it is unknown whether he had any siblings.

There is also no record of Mr Kruger, who worked at the hotel for 43 years, marrying or having any children.

A police spokesman said: “We are looking for anyone with any information that can help us locate any relatives to Mr Kruger to contact police on 0131-311 3131.”
