The victims were set upon by a pair of thugs in South Charlotte Street at about 3.30am on Sunday.
Both men were punched to the face and knocked to the ground.
The suspects were described as white males in their early 20s, one wearing a white V-neck T-shirt possibly ripped at the āVā.
The other was wearing a dark-coloured T-shirt and had either short cropped hair or was balding.
A number of passers-by assisted the victims and the culprits were pointed out to a passing taxi driver.
