Armed Forces Day to be marked in Edinburgh

A FLAGRAISING ceremony will take place in the city centre on Monday to launch Armed Forces Day.

A procession carrying the Armed Forces Day Flag will begin at 9.40am from West Parliament Square before moving across the High Street and into the City Chambers quadrangle, where it will be met by Lord Provost Frank Ross.

As the clock strikes 10am, the Armed Forces Day Flag will be raised on the City Chambers roof.

On Saturday, Armed Forces Day will see a parade from Johnston Terrace to the city’s War Memorial, where the Lord Provost will take a salute before hosting a special reception.
