Armed men demand cash at Post Office

Two men wearing Balaclavas entered the Milton Road West Post Office at around 11am yesterday, one of whom brandished a Stanley knife.

A post office counter clerk, who didn’t want to be named, said: “I was serving an elderly gentleman and the next thing I knew, two guys came in, pushed the old man out the way, and one of them climbed over the counter beside me. I just panicked and went into the room where the safe was, locked the door and pressed the panic button.”

The first suspect was wearing a white jacket and black rucksack. The second man wore a blue hooded top.

Anyone with information should call police on 0131 311 3131.
