Police are investigating an armed robbery on an Edinburgh post office - the third time it has been targeted in as many years.
A man is said to have entered the Londis shop and post office on Milton Road West at around 10.25am and threatened staff with an unidentified object before demanding cash from the safe.
He then made off on foot with a four-figure sum of money.
Martin Ross, who manages the National Tyres garage on the same street said: “It’s happened at least three times in the last three years.
“The last time was 6 months ago when, someone got in through the roof and made off with a load of cigarettes.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Inquiries into this robbery are ongoing and anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious around the post office on Friday morning is asked to contact police immediately.”
