Army musicians from Dreghorn Barracks will today be presented with their Afghanistan medals.

Members of the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland spent three months over Christmas and New Year providing music for the armed forces based in Helmand Province, for their Christmas services, Burns Night celebrations and to boost morale.

They were due to be presented with their campaign medals by Brigadier George Lowder, Commander of 51 Scottish Brigade, on the Parade Square at the barracks in Redford Road this morning.

They will be granted a well-earned rest from playing, with music being provided by The Royal Artillery Band, and the Pipes and Drums of The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
