The Cameroon internationalist, who played an hour against Motherwell last week, was continuing his comeback following a ruptured Achilles tendon. He lined up in Hearts’ midfield alongsode Oliver Bozanic and Harry Cochrane. Djoum was involved in the opening goal on eight minutes, Australian internationalist Bozanic curling home an unstoppable free-kick after his fellow midfielder was hauled down on the edge of the box.

Dundee missed a series of good chances before eventually equalising from the penalty spot two minutes after half-time through Cedwyn Scott.

Hearts were reduced to ten men on 64 minutes, Alex Petkov red-carded for hauling down Matty Henvey as the Dundee man ran through on goal.

Henvey headed the visitors in front eight minutes later and made it three in the 89th minute, goalkeeper Kelby Mason’s clearance rebounding off the striker and into the empty net.

Hearts weren’t done, however, Lewis Moore scoring from outside the area.

Hearts: Mason, Logan, Petkov, Baur, Hickey, Bozanic, Djoum, Cochrane, C Smith, McDonald, Currie. Subs: Silva, Ritchie, Henderson, Moore, Leddie, Grigor, McGill.
