Arnold Schwarzenegger arrives in Edinburgh ahead of event

MOVIE legend Arnold Schwarzenegger arrived in Edinburgh this afternoon aboard a private jet.

The ex-bodybuilder and governor of California is visiting the city to act as guest of honour at a black tie event where tickets are being sold for up to £1,500 each.

A snap of the actor, dressed casually in a baseball jacket, showed him being greeted at the city’s airport.

The star was then whisked into the city and is staying at the Waldorf Astoria.

The event tonight at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre will feature an interview by radio and TV presenter Jenni Falconer, before a unique signed replica of the sword used in Conan the Barbarian will be put up for a charity auction.

It is thought that the actor may be taking a bike ride around Edinburgh prior to the event - and stargazing cyclists have been on the lookout all day for the elusive Austrian star.
