Avoid winter blunderland

POLICE are carrying out roadside checks on vehicles this weekend to help ensure motorists are prepared for winter driving.

Officers are also visiting shopping centres in the force area to offer road safety advice as part of the Get Ready for Winter weekend.

The campaign, which got under way yesterday and runs until Monday, will see officers carrying out checks to make sure vehicles are roadworthy for the winter months.
