AROUND 40 jobs have been created at a budget store in the Capital.

Bargain retailer Discount UK opened its store at Craigleith Retail Park yesterday.

Around two-thirds of its 6000 products are priced at £1 or less and it has proved popular during the economic downturn.

Chris Edwards jnr, trading director at Discount UK, said: “Edinburgh is a great place. We already have a store at Straiton Retail Park and we’re delighted to be opening our second store here.”
