Bainfield aiming to shock leaders and ease drop fears

Bainfield blew a chance to ease their relegation worries as they lost 76-72 at bottom side Abbeyview in Division B of the indoor bowls Premier League last weekend.

And tomorrow’s penultimate match against table-toppers Falkirk at home won’t calm the nerves. Bainfield’s first target is to avoid automatic relegation by adding to or preserving their two-point advantage over Abbeyview while escaping the play-off position requires closing the two-point advantage held by East Lothian and Aberdeen.

Bainfield:

Rink 1: Tam Erbbs, Danny McCourt, Daniel Gormley, Craig Paterson.

Rink 2: Graeme Mcintosh, Alan Brown, Kevin Tennant, Colin Hutchison.

Rink 3: Josh Spalding, Steven Rennie, John McDermott, Gavin Smith.

Rink 4: Mark Mcintosh, Steven Pilley, Jamie Reid, James Hogg.

East Lothian have joined Bainfield in the relegation zone but can help themselves and the Capital outfit by delivering a killer blow to the survival prospect of Abbeyview when they meet in Fife.

Team captain Scott Kennedy joins Alex Marshall as a major absentee. However, there is compensation with the return of stalwart stars Mark Johnston and Andy Jeffrey.
