FOUR branches of a bakery firm are to close in the Capital, despite the business being saved after plunging into administration.
More than 240 jobs have been rescued after Mathiesons was sold to rival Prestige Bakeries Limited.
However, 20 Scottish stores were excluded from the deal, with the administrator insisting there was no choice but to close them.
The branches to close include those in Ferry Road, Montagu Terrace, Oxgangs Broadway and Boswall Parkway. However, a shop at The Gyle will remain open.
