A FOUR-day dance extravaganza at the Edinburgh International Festival (EIF) this summer has landed a £200,000 funding boost.

The cash from the Scottish Government’s Edinburgh Festivals Expo Fund will help Scottish Ballet to fund performances of Dance Odysseys at the Festival Theatre.

External affairs minister Humza Yousaf said: “The Edinburgh International Festival does an excellent job of promoting Scotland’s rich culture, heritage and distinct identity on the world stage.”

EIF director Jonathan Mills said: “The festival offers an unparalleled opportunity to position us in the international arena as a dynamic, creative and innovative nation.

“We thank the government for its recognition of this opportunity.”
