Bank staff in Africa effort

STAFF from Edinburgh-based Royal Bank of Scotland have raised more than £90,000 for people affected by the drought crisis in East Africa.

RBS has worked with its community programmes partner Oxfam to raise funds for the massive relief effort in countries such as Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Melissa Minty, one of the local CEOs for RBS in Edinburgh, said: “The crisis in East Africa is severe. To help provide urgently needed resources, nearly a thousand employees from the bank donated to our appeal and the bank has matched their donations.”
